Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to store, sent back to that site with later requests so it can recognise a returning browser. Related technologies such as local storage and session storage do the same job inside the browser without a server round-trip. This page treats them all as cookies, because the privacy question is the same.

Which cookies this site sets

Only the strictly necessary category is in use today. The others are listed so that enabling them requires an update to this page first.

Third-party requests that are not cookies

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That is a request to a third-party server and transmits your IP address, even though it sets no cookie of ours. Blocking it with a content blocker changes nothing about how the site reads.

How to control cookies

  • Every major browser can block third-party cookies entirely, which stops cross-site tracking without breaking this site.
  • Private or incognito windows discard cookies when the window closes.
  • Existing cookies can be deleted from your browser's privacy settings at any time.
  • A content blocker will suppress the Google Fonts request as well as advertising and analytics scripts.
  • Blocking all cookies still leaves every page on this site fully readable.

Where the law requires consent for a non-essential cookie, this site asks for it before setting one and honours a refusal. Nothing here depends on consent to function, so refusing costs you no content.

Changes

If a new category goes live, the table above and the privacy policy are updated on the same day the service is enabled.
