Copyright Policy and DMCA Notices
How copyright complaints are handled on a site that hosts no files and no streams, what a valid notice must contain, and how quickly notices are actioned.
What this site is and is not
This site is an independent informational publication. It hosts no software installation files, stores no media, embeds no video player and carries no stream, feed or playlist. Its content is original written explanation, testing methodology and device documentation. Any third-party name, logo or trademark appears for identification and description only, under fair use and nominative reference.
What we will act on
- Use of a protected work on this site beyond fair use or nominative reference, for example a reproduced article or a borrowed screenshot.
- Presentation of the site that implies an official relationship with a rights holder where none exists.
- A page that misstates who a product, brand or trademark belongs to.
- A reference to a specific download source that the rights holder has asked us to stop naming.
What a valid notice must contain
1.Identify the work
Name the copyrighted work or works you say are infringed, or give a representative list if several are involved.
2.Identify the material on this site
Give the exact page URL and quote the specific text or image you object to, so the location is unambiguous.
3.Give your contact details
Your name, postal address, telephone number and an email address where you can be reached.
4.State your basis
State that you have a good faith belief the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
5.State your authority
State that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them, under penalty of perjury.
6.Sign it
Add a physical or electronic signature. Notices without one cannot be processed.
Where to send it
Send notices through the contact page, marked as a copyright notice. A notice that omits the elements above will be returned with a note on what is missing, because an incomplete notice cannot be verified and acting on it would risk removing legitimate material.
Designated agent details placeholder - the postal address and named agent required for a formal DMCA notice are published here once configured. Until then, contact the editorial desk through the contact page.
What happens after a valid notice
| Stage | What we do | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | Confirm receipt and log the notice | Within 3 working days |
| Assessment | Check the notice for completeness and compare it against the page | Within 7 working days |
| Action | Remove or adjust the referenced material where the notice is valid | Within 10 working days of a complete notice |
| Reply | Confirm what changed, or explain why no change was made | With the action |
Counter-notices
If material was removed following a notice and you believe the removal was mistaken, you can send a counter-notice explaining why, with your contact details and a statement of good faith. A counter-notice is assessed on the same evidence standard as the original notice, and material may be restored where the counter-notice is stronger.
Repeat complaints
A page that repeatedly attracts valid notices is rewritten to remove the disputed reference, or removed entirely. This site has no interest in arguing about material it cannot host anyway.
