How to Install the ak47sports apk on Firestick and Fire TV (4 Steps)
Fire OS is an Android fork, so the file installs unchanged, but the settings live somewhere else entirely. Four steps, the two Amazon-only quirks, and how to undo them.
This guide covers an app you install yourself — download the latest ak47sports apk (v1.6, Android 5.0+, free, no registration) AK47 Sports APK download page or go straight to the Android install guide.
Why the same APK works on Fire OS
Fire OS is an Android fork with Amazon's own launcher and store in place of Google's. The package manager underneath is Android, which means the APK format, the signing model and the version-number rules all behave the same way. What Amazon changed is where the settings live and which store is present, and those two differences account for nearly every Fire TV install problem reported.
The four installation steps on Fire TV
1.Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources
Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, then Install unknown apps or Apps from Unknown Sources, and turn it on. On older Fire OS builds this toggle sits under Settings, then Device, then Developer Options.
2.Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore
Search the Fire TV store for Downloader by AFTVnews. Google Play is not present on Fire OS, so the Amazon Appstore is the only source for it.
3.Enter the code
Open Downloader, type the code below, and press Go. The stick downloads and then installs the file on its own.
4.Install and open it
Press Install, then Open. If the app does not appear on the Fire TV home row, find it under Settings, then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications.

What Fire OS does differently
| Fire OS behaviour | Consequence | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Unknown sources sits under Developer Options | The setting is easy to miss | Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, then enable it |
| The toggle is device-wide, not per app | One switch covers every installer | Turn it back off after installing if you prefer the tighter default |
| Amazon Appstore replaces Google Play | Google Play apps cannot be installed normally | Use Downloader, or a store utility such as Aptoide TV, as the source |
| Frequent software updates reset some settings | A working install can stop working after an OS update | Re-check Developer Options after any Fire OS update |
What to check before you install on a Firestick
- Free storage in Settings, then My Fire TV, then About, then Storage; an 8 GB stick with a full cache needs clearing before a sideload.
- The Fire OS version, because the Developer Options label changed between Fire OS 6 and Fire OS 8.
- Whether the app you want already exists in the Amazon Appstore, in which case a normal store install is simpler and updates itself.
Frequently asked questions
Worth knowing: Fire OS hides the unknown-sources permission behind Developer Options rather than the Apps screen, which is the single most common reason a Firestick install stalls.
